an American actor who has appeared in such movies as "Once Upon a Time in Mexico", "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", "Blow", "Chocolat", "Sleepy Hollow", "The Astronaut's Wife", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "The Brave" (also wrote and directed), "Donnie Brasco", "Don Juan DeMarco", "Ed Wood", "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", "Edward Scissorhands", "Benny And Joon", "Cry-Baby", "Platoon" and "A Nightmare On Elm Street" (also in Part VI). As well, he has appeared on such television shows as "21 Jump Street" (Officer Tom Hanson) and "United States of Poetry", among numerous guest appearances.

Also, he is a guitar player and has been a member of the bands the Kids and P. His brother is screenwriter D.P. Depp.
