a famous Russian artist, the master of marine and battle painting. Graduated from St. Petersburg Academy of Art in 1837. The Academician of Art (1845), the Professor of the Emperor's Academy of Art (1847). Created about 6 thousands paintings, hundreds of drawings and watercolours.
